Sayville, NY| Junior Erin MacDonell became the ninth different female runner in St. Joseph's College (L.I.) history to earn Individual Champion honors at the 2016 Skyline Conference Championship hosted by the Golden Eagles at Broadway Park in Sayville, NY on Sunday afternoon.

MacDonell and the women's team earned a third-place finish among the 12 competing female teams, while the men placed second in a field of 10. The women's team had placed first the previous six seasons, and for the men it was their third-straight runner-up performance at the conference championships.

MacDonell's 6k time of 24:19.73 set a new career-high as the Sayville, NY native finished 27 seconds quicker than the second place-finisher. Senior Kelly Roberts would go on to earn Skyline All-Conference Second-Team honors with a 12th-place finish (26:04.1; personal best) of her own.

Sophomore Taylor Darby (20th, 26:47.15), junior Amanda Sprague (22nd, 26:56.81) and senior Cassie Costarelli (31st, 28:04.56) rounded out the SJC top-five.

On the men's side, freshman Tim Monahan (27:46.37), junior James Dachille (27:50.99) and sophomore Ryan Haun (28:08.24) earned fifth, sixth and seventh-place finishes, respectively, and all earned Skyline All-Conference First-Team nods.

Freshman Nick DeLuca appeared on the Second-Team following a 14th-place finish (29:01.90), and senior Tim Elgort checked in at 41st (31:11.94).

Both the women's and men's teams return to action on Saturday, November 5 when they participate at the ECAC Championships at Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY. Full meet recap available here at sjcgoldeneagles.com following the action.
