Basile Lands on MBWA, Skyline Weekly Honor Rolls

New York, NY| Junior Frank Basile of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team scooped up a pair of honors on Tuesday when he was named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association's Divisions II-III Weekly Honorable Mention.

Basile averaged 20.3 points- and 9.0 rebounds-per-game through three contests as SJC posted a 1-2 record. The Islip, NY native posted game-high point totals in all three games and scored a week-high 21 points (8-for-15 FG) in a 97-72 loss to Farmingdale on January 12.

On January 8, Basile posted his ninth double-double of the season with a 20-point, 12-rebound performance in a 68-64 overtime loss at St. Joseph's (Brkln). On January 10, the guard scored 20 points and powered the Golden Eagles to a 58-51 home victory over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Basile appeared on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth time this season and the MBWA Weekly Honorable Mention for the third time. 

As of Tuesday afternoon, Basile led the Golden Eagles in scoring (20.1 PPG) and rebounding (10.0 RPG) and ranked third in the Skyline Conference in both categories. 

Basile and the Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, January 15 when they visit Mount St. Mary College for a Skyline Conference showdown at 8:00 pm.
