Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team took a 66-59 defeat to Skyline Conference rival Mount St. Mary in its final contest of the 2018-19 season inside the Danzi Center on Monday evening.

The loss ensures the Golden Eagles finish the year with a 5-20 overall record (4-16 Skyline) for the second straight season. The Knights move to 14-11 (11-9 Skyline) and earn a postseason berth.

Junior Frank Basile led all players with 20 points on 7-for-16 shooting from the field and also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.

Junior Brad Weiss went for 14 points and six rebounds, and senior Mike Harris contributed eight points on 3-for-7 shooting in his final collegiate appearance.

The Knights were led by Ethan Fox, who scored a team-high 18 points and was credited with a game-high 12 rebounds.

A red-hot start for the Golden Eagle saw them go up 23-7 9:06 into the contest, but the Knights came on strong in the second half of the first frame and ensured the sides entered the break tied at 31.

The teams went point-for-point for nearly 12 minutes in the second half and SJC led 53-32 with 9:36 to play, but it would be the last lead the hosts would hold before succumbing to a seven-point defeat.
