Men's Volleyball Tabbed to Finish 7th in Skyline Preseason Poll

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team finished seventh in the Skyline Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, which was released on the conference website on Tuesday morning.

The Golden Eagles, who are set to kick-off their first-ever season at home vs. Medgar Evers College on Tuesday, January 24 (7:00 PM), collected 36 points and finished ahead of St. Joseph's College (Brkln) and Yeshiva University, who tied for eighth with 24 points, and Sarah Lawrence College (11 points).

Five-time defending conference champion Kean University was tabbed to repeat after receiving 81 points and nine first-place votes. Ramapo College slotted in at second with 70 points and The Sage Colleges took third with 60 points and one first-place vote.

Rounding out the field was New Jersey City University (55 points), the College of Mount St. Vincent (51 points) and SUNY Purchase (38 points) who finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

SJC's first-year program will be led by head coach Bill Kropp who has enlisted eight local freshmen including middle blocker Kyle Biggers and outside hitter Will Flohr. Junior setter Tyler Jones of Farmingville, NY will also be leaned on during the team's inaugural season.
