Oneonta, NY| Heather Ferchland and Meaghan Haber each scored four goals as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team downed Hartwick College in a wild non-conference affair on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 2-2 on the season as the Hawks fall to 2-3.

In a game that saw the lead change five times, Kristin Carroll's unassisted tally gave St. Joseph's the early edge at 26.44, but a pair of goals for Lauren Rosenberg at 24:18 and 22:14 put Hartwick ahead (2-1) for the first time in the contest.

Ferchland would tie the game at 20:47 and Haber's tally 26 seconds later would reestablish the Golden Eagles' one-goal advantage (3-2). Two more tallies from Rosenberg at 17:56 and 15:22 inched the Hawks back in front, but Ferchland and Haber struck again in succession as SJC went back up 5-4 at 12:43.

Unassisted marks from Megan Young (12:08) and Rosenberg (11:31) continued the see-saw affair, as Hartwick took its third lead of the contest (6-5). SJC's Ally Johnston knotted the score at six at 10:50, but a quick response from Rosenberg—her sixth of the game—with 5:29 to play in the half inched Hartwick back in front (7-6).

Nearly three minutes later, Haber's third tally of the afternoon ensured the sides would head into the break tied at seven.

It only took 49 seconds for the Golden Eagles to pull back ahead in the second half after Jessica Cordano gave SJC its fourth lead of the game. Carroll would extend the lead to two goals (9-7) at 28:14, but Jessie Matt's response four minutes later cut the deficit in half (9-8).

Consecutive goals by Heather Ferchland at 18:49 and 16:54 followed by tallies courtesy of Jenna Kelleher (10:11) and Cordano (8:36) allowed SJC to begin pulling away (13-8) with time winding down.

Nicole Stoppelli would score at 5:41 and Haber notched her fourth at 5:25 as the Golden Eagles cruised to the 15-10 victory.

Lindsay Ramos recorded six saves in her second win of the season for SJC, meanwhile Hartwick's Carleigh Tarala faced 29 shots and made 14 saves in the defeat.

Rosenberg led all scorers with seven goals, but Ferchland and Haber led St. Joseph's with four apiece. Ferchland would also record game-bests in draw controls (7) and caused turnovers (3).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, March 23 when they travel to face Washington College at 7:00 PM. Live video of the contest will be available to stream here.
