Ferchland Co-Offensive POTY, 7 Others on Skyline All-Conf. Teams

New York, NY| Two days after being crowned Skyline Conference champion for the second-straight season, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team, highlighted by Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Heather Ferchland, saw eight members of the squad named to Skyline All-Conference teams.

After collecting her fourth First-Team selection, Ferchland captures her first Player of the Year nod as a senior. In 17 games she's collected 47 goals and 12 assists for 59 points and, additionally, ranked among the conference's best in ground balls (57, 3rd), draw controls (62, 5th) and caused turnovers (41, 2nd).

Joining Ferchland on the First-Team are seniors Jessica Cordano and Brianna Mascia, and junior Kelly Walsh. Cordano had a career year in the midfield establishing career-highs in assists (44), points (62), ground balls (60), draw controls (30), caused turnovers (42) and shots (48). The Oakdale, NY native also finished first in the conference in assists.

Mascia and Walsh led a Golden Eagle defense that finished first in the Skyline in both caused turnovers-per-game (14.94) and goals-against average (8.46), having both established career-bests in caused turnovers (26 and 29, respectively).

Earning Second-Team nods was the foursome of attackers Meaghan Haber and Jenna Kelleher, midfielder Kristin Carroll and keeper Lindsay Ramos. Kelleher (34 goals) and Haber (25 goals) helped lead an SJC attack that generated a conference-leading 217 tallies, while Carroll (28 goals, 44 points, 34 ground balls) rounded out a high-powered midfield.

Ramos, a freshman, finished her Skyline campaign first in goals-against average (8.26) and second in save percentage (.469) while posting a 13-4 record.
