New York, N.Y. – Junior Helen Putriment of Sage has been named the Skyline Women's Volleyball Player of the Year in voting conducted among the Conference's ten head coaches.

The Skyline coaches also selected Alicia McCarthy of Purchase as the 2013 Rookie of the Year and Tobey Pantophlet of St. Joseph's-L.I. as Coach of the Year.

Putriment enters the Gators' Nov. 9 contest versus Mount Saint Mary in the semifinals of the Skyline Championship leading the league in kills per set (3.24) and is ranked second in digs (4.00 per set).  A five-time Skyline Player of the Week selection, the junior outside hitter from Troy, NY, also leads the conference in points per set (3.65) and has more than 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills for her career.  Putriment was named to the all-tournament team at the Scranton Invitational and Endicott Tournament while leading Sage to the Skyline regular season crown with a perfect 9-0 record.

McCarthy ranks among the conference leaders with 2.85 kills per set (fourth), 3.47 points per set (fourth) and 0.55 aces per set (10th).  Named the Skyline Rookie of the Week on Sept. 16, the outside hitter from Plano, Texas, has compiled 201 digs – good for second on the team – along with 40 service aces.

Joining McCarthy on the All-Conference first team includes Joanie Cooney and Katelyn Drollette of Sage; Farmingdale State's Sarah Palladino; Heather Ferchland and Julianne Tierney of St. Joseph's-L.I.; and Mount Saint Vincent's Ashleigh Scozzari.

The second-team All-Conference includes Farmingdale State's Maia Cadle-Hinton and Megan Pisciotta; Jen Gries, Kayla Kurka and Claire Scully of Mount Saint Mary; Melissa Garibaldi of St. Joseph's-L.I.; and Mount Saint Vincent's Maria Leineweber.

In his ninth season, Pantophlet has guided the Golden Eagles to a 19-12 overall record and the No. 2 seed in the 2013 Skyline Championship.  SJC posted a 7-2 mark in league play and enters its semifinal match on Nov. 9 against Farmingdale State having won six of its last seven matches.
