Frank Basile Named ECAC Metro Player of the Month for December
Danbury, CT| Senior Frank Basile of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Basketball Division III Metro Region Player of the Month for December when the conference released its monthly award winners on Thursday afternoon.
Basile averaged 27.8 points- and 8.8 rebounds-per-game in four games for SJC in December, leading the team to a 2-2 record.
Additionally, the guard shot 13-for-13 from the charity stripe, dished out 13 assists and was credited with 10 steals. Basile posted consecutive double-doubles on December 28 and 29 and capped off the month with a 31-point, 12-rebound performance in a win over McDaniel.
Basile is an ECAC Metro Player of the Month for the second time in his career having claimed the honor in January of 2019. On December 9, the Islip, NY native appeared on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the seventh time in his career.
Before play on Thursday, Basile led the Skyline Conference in scoring (25.9 PPG) and was seventh in the nation in points-per-game. His 9.0 rebounds-per-game was good for sixth in the conference.
