Six W. Lacrosse Players Ranked in Latest LaxPower Ratings

Patchogue, N.Y. - LaxPower, a nationally recognized website that caters to all levels of lacrosse for men's and women's NCAA Divisions I, II & III, begins compiling individual player impact ratings starting in April, once enough games have been played. These rankings encompass multiple statistics about each player.  St. Joseph's women's lacrosse is proud to have six players among the leaders in their respective categories. Once all 270 schools are evaluated there are between 1,350 and 2,000+ players at each position (except for goalies).

On attack, senior captain Caitlynn Webber is ranked #91, the highest of any Skyline Conference attack player.  Only one other Skyline player (from Mt. St. Mary) is mentioned in the Top 200 Attack category.  Webber has had a stellar season so far, with 29 goals and 22 assists, in addition to 43 draw controls. She is a dominant force both as a scorer and also on the draw circle, and initiating the St. Joseph's "Pressure Ride."

At midfield, the Golden Eagles have two players ranked in the Top 200, their top two scorers. Heather Ferchland is ranked #66 in the country and Ela Igdeler is ranked #132.  Ferchland is leading the team in goals scored with 48, while Igdeler is leading in total assists with 26. Only two other midfielders from the Skyline Conference are listed, both from Farmingdale.

On defense, Nicole Lyman is ranked #7 in the country as an impact player, obviously the highest ranked Skyline player. This is the fourth year that Lyman heads up the Golden Eagles strong backer defense, and her ability to intercept and knock down passes, plus scoop ground balls, is now well recognized nationally. Three other Skyline players made the Top 200 defenders.

In goal, Courtney Wickline is ranked #40 in the country, also the highest ranked Skyline Conference player. She has followed up a very strong rookie season with a solid performance in 2015, allowing just 8.82 goals with a save percentage of 48.8.  One other Skyline Conference goalie made the Top 100 goalies.

For all freshmen in the country, Kristin Carroll comes in at #283 out of 1,694, which means she is in the top 16% of freshmen.  Carroll has come on as of late, and is beginning to score at a fast pace.  She has 19 goals and 11 assists while anchoring the Golden Eagles midfield.

St. Joseph's has six players mentioned, which shows the amazing balance of this year's squad.  With only a handful of Skyline players mentioned, the lists includes players from every non-conference team that the Golden Eagles have played this year, demonstrating the toughness of their schedule.

They have faced high impact players from Drew, Muhlenberg, Western Connecticut, Potsdam and F.D.U., not to mention Farmingdale and Mt. St. Mary, this weekend.  Included in that group are the #1 ranked attackman in the country, the #4 ranked midfielder and the #16 ranked goalkeeper. Despite the tough competition, St. Joseph's has a 10-4 record, with a chance at an undefeated Skyline Conference season still alive.
