Wickline & Carroll Rack up 5/4 Skyline Weekly Awards for Lax

New York, N. Y.- St. Joseph's women's lacrosse team headlines the Skyline Conference report ending on May 4 after winning the Skyline title, with sophomore goalie Courtney Wickline (Medford, N.Y./ Bellport) earning Player of the Week, and freshman midfielder Kristin Carroll (Patchogue, N.Y./ Patchogue-Medford) being named Rookie of the Week.

Wickline was honored as Player of the Week after dominating in-between the pipes, stopping five shots to lead SJC to their first-ever Skyline Championship in a 7-5 victory over Farmingdale - their second win over the Rams all-time and in this season. She also took home honors as the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship. In the semifinals on Apr. 29, Wickline added two saves in a 17-6 win over Purchase. With both wins, Wickline (12-4) improves to a 75 percent winning percentage with a 46.6 save percentage.

Rookie of the Week was presented to Carroll for the second time this year after she tallied two goals in back-to-back victories in the Skyline Championship and semifinals. In the championship, Carroll forced a turnover, scooped a groundball, while shooting accurately with an 80 percent shot on goal percentage.
