Women's Volleyball Swept by Manhattanville

Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team came upon the short end of a 3-0 Skyline Conference contest with Manhattanville College on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles fall to 8-13 on the season and 5-4 in Skyline play. The Valiants improve to 14-4 overall, 8-1 Skyline.

Manhattanville came out strong with a 25-9 showing in the first set and put away the Golden Eagles with 25-16 and 25-15 wins in sets two and three, respectively.

SJC's offense was held up by Amanda Goldstein with 10 kills on the evening. Kayla Martin added three kills along with seven digs. Setter Veronica Miessmer tossed 15 assists with libero Kellianne Dempsey finishing with 10 digs.

Ayla Ruiz led the Valiants with nine kills and Hannah Pena contributed with seven kills and three blocks. Setter Vianca Vital recorded 21 assists while knocking down six kills and hitting at a .857 clip. Grace Ballagas led all players with 13 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center for the final time of the 2021 season on Tuesday, October 26 when they host St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn at 7:00 PM.
