The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team drops their second Skyline Conference matchup against Purchase, 2-1, on Tuesday evening.

Top performers

• Sophomore Sean Gordon put away the Golden Eagles' lone goal on the evening

• Junior Sebastiano Bartolotta added one assist 

• Ermin Mackic and Oliver Broun each tallied one goal for the Panthers 

• Jair Cano and Leo Conte of Purchase totaled one assist each

How it happened

• The Panthers found success early on with Conte firing a shot that went off the post, leading to Mackic open in front of the net to give the Panthers the early one-goal lead at the six-minute mark

• With the first half coming to a close, it was the Golden Eagles who capitalized on a long free-kick attempt that found the head of Gordon to tie the game at one with three minutes remaining in the half

• Ten minutes into the second half a cross from Cano into the box, saw Broun gain control and fire a right-footed strike into the bottom right of the net giving the Panthers the 2-1 lead

• It was the Golden Eagles looking to trike late as Lucas Pelaez found space for an opportunity but was blocked, which found Nick Pensavalle who then hit the crossbar on his attempt in the final minute

• St. Joseph's held an 18-11 shot advantage 

• The Panthers had five corner kicks compared to the Golden Eagles' three 

• Each team was awarded three yellow cards each
