Cristobal & Johnson Break SJC Records at LI Championships

South Huntington, N.Y. - The St. Joseph's College men's and women's track & field team turned in record performances at the Long Island Indoor Championships hosted by St. John's University on Friday evening.
 
Women
Leading the way for the women was junior Christine Cristobal (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills West) who was solid in the 1000m. She was third overall and crushed the school record with a time of 3:08.03.

Men
On the men's side, freshman Robert Johnson (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) competed in the 1000m, crossing the finish line third overall at 2:41.66. Johnson broke the six year-old school record held by alumnus Bryan Knipfing.

Senior Sean Meehan (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./Mt. Sinai) took third overall in the 400m with a time of 52.32.

Junior Max James (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park was solid in the 500m. He was fourth overall with a time of 1:09.18.

Kevin Sanders (Wading River, NY/Shoreham Wading River)-400m-53.38 (#4 Indoor All-Time List)

Both teams will take the next week off from competition to prepare for the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, February 4.
