New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners was senior Andrea Iavarone who was named Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Iavarone opened her 2017-18 season with three double-doubles in as many contests, averaging 19.7 points and 19.3 rebounds-per-game.

In a season-opening victory at Medgar Evers on November 15, the forward posted game-high numbers in points (27) and rebounds (12) and became the eighth player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 career-point mark.

On November 17, Iavarone went for 15 points and grabbed a career-best 21 rebounds in a 96-68 loss to Penn. St. Abington at the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic in Newark, NJ. The next day, in a loss to host Rutgers-Newark, the Miller Place, NY native scored 17 points and again established a new personal best with a 25-rebound performance.

As of Monday afternoon, Iavarone led the conference in rebounds-per-game (19.3) and ranked fifth in points-per-game (19.7).

Iavarone and the Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, November 22 when they travel to Manhattan to face CCNY in a non-conference tilt at 6:00 pm. Follow the action live here.
