Emily Morphitis Appointed Women's Soccer Team Head Coach

Patchogue, NY| St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Vice President & Senior Director of Athletics & Recreation Shantey M. Hill is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Morphitis to the position of head coach of the institution's women's soccer team.

"I'd like to thank Director of Athletics, Shantey Hill, and the entire selection committee for this opportunity," Morphitis said of her appointment. "I'm very excited to be a Golden Eagle and already feel welcomed into the family. I look forward to working with the girls and building upon this successful program."

Morphitis arrives in Patchogue from Hofstra University where she spent the past three seasons as the women's soccer team's assistant coach. During her time with the Pride, the women's soccer program captured two CAA tournament championships and made two NCAA Division I Tournament Appearances.

Prior coaching at Hofstra, Morphitis spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She worked specifically with goalkeepers, organized college ID camps and handled other administrative duties.

Since 2012 Morphitis has held several other soccer-related positions on Long Island with East Meadow Soccer Club, New York Surf Soccer Club and Empire Soccer Academy.

Originally from London, England, Morphitis spent time in Chelsea Football Club's Ladies Premier League first team before enrolling at Hofstra in 2010. A member of the England National Youth Squad at the U15, U17 and U19 levels, Morphitis won the 2012 CAA championship with Hofstra in 2012, was a member of the CAA All-Rookie Team in 2010 and was the CAA Tournament MVP in 2012.
