Adomaites, Darby Named Skyline Basketball Rookies of the Week

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and amongst the winners were freshman Alyssa Adomaites (women's basketball) and sophomore Michael Darby (men's basketball) who were named Rookies of the Week in their respective sports.

Additionally, senior Matt Cole of the men's volleyball team appeared on the Weekly Honor Roll.

Alyssa Adomaites (Fr.) - Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Adomaites lead the Golden Eagles with 22.0 PPG in a 2-0 week for the women's basketball team. The guard had 17 points, eight assists, six rebounds and four steals in a win against SUNY Purchase on February 5 and followed the performance up with 27 points in a win at home over SUNY Old Westbury on February 8. This is the guard's fourth Rookie of the Week honor this season. She has averaged 17.9 PPG and 4.2 RPG in 13 games.

Michael Darby (So.) - Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Darby averaged 23.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 2.0 SPG in the men's basketball team's two games last week. The sophomore led the Golden Eagles with 24 points in a loss to SUNY Purchase on February 5 and went on to tally 23 points in a loss to Old Westbury on February 8. This is Darby's first Rookie of the Week honor this season having averaged 11.1 PPG and 3.1 RPG.

Matt Cole (Sr.) - Men's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll
Cole led the men's volleyball team with 30 total kills last week as SJC posted a 1-1 record. In a 3-0 sweep of CCNY on February 8, the outside hitter put down 18 kills and hit .429. The senior also contributed 12 kills and eight digs in a loss to Ramapo. Cole is currently first on the team in kills (83) and has also contributed 37 digs.
