Farrington and Barresi Highlight Weekly Awards; Seven Golden Eagles Land on Honor Roll

New York, NY| Nine Golden Eagles garnered Skyline Conference Weekly recognition with sophomores Emily Farrington and Michaela Barresi collecting top awards when the conference released its weekly awards on Wednesday morning.

Additionally, sophomore Nick Pensavalle, junior Daniel Dacos of men's soccer, senior Madison Gremli, senior April Sexton, and freshman Nina Vanderhoof of women's volleyball, sophomore Natalie Kopala and freshman Madi Beatty of women's tennis all earned Weekly Honor Rolls in their respective sports.

Emily Farrington (So.) - Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Farrington matched a team-high with two assists in a 2-0 win against Maritime. The sophomore also secured a hat trick in a win against Old Westbury. The forward was second on the team with seven shots and six shots on goal. 

Michaela Barresi (So.) - Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Barresi led a backline that allowed zero goals across two Skyline Conference matchups on the week. The defender logged 157 minutes in two games played. 

Nick Pensavalle (So.) - Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

Pensavalle played all but two minutes of action in two games on the week for the Golden Eagles. Recorded seven shots with one shot on goal. Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Maritime. 

Daniel Dacos (Jr.) - Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

Dacos played 180 minutes in two games on the week. The defender led a backline that held Maritime to just one goal in a 2-1 victory.

Madison Gremli (Sr.) - Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Gremli led the Golden Eagles with 30 kills averaging 3.33 kills per set over three matches. The Outsidehitter added 17 digs, 1.89 digs per set, five aces, and three solo blocks. The senior finished with a match-best 12 kills in the 3-0 conference-opening sweep of Maritime. The Bay Shore, NY native added a team-high seven kills against Buffalo St. before turning in a double-double of 11 kills and 11 digs against Baruch.

April Sexton (Sr.) - Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Sexton finished the week with 26 digs averaging 2.89 digs per set. The libero added nine assists and three aces while recording 11 digs, five assists, and three aces in a 3-0 sweep of Maritime.

Nina Vanderhoof (Fr.) - Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

The middle recorded 17 kills averaging 1.89 kills per set while hitting at a .333 clip. The middle blocker had six kills with a .455 hitting percentage in a win over Maritime.

Natalie Kopala (So.) - Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll

Kopala earned 7-5, 6-1 wins to claim #1 singles in the conference-opening win over Sarah Lawrence.

Madi Beatty (Fr.) - Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll

Beatty recorded wins in both of her flights in a 7-2 win over Sarah Lawrence this week. The freshman registered 6-1, 6-4 wins to claim #6 singles after earning an 8-5 win in #2 doubles.
