Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team dropped a 11-4 decision to Manhattanville College in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening. This marks SJC's first loss to Manhattanville in program history (5-1) and now slides to 1-8 on the year, while the Valiants improve to 4-3.

Manhattanville scored the first goal of the contest just 15 seconds into play, however, SJC's Brooke Kreuscher responded back two minutes later to tie the game 1-1. The Valiants sparked a 6-0 run in a 10-minute span to build a 7-1 lead. Stoppelli fired back-to-back goals at the 14 and 12-minute marks to close SJC's deficit (7-3).

After a pair of goals by the hosts, Tricia Barrett scored off a free-position attempt to exit the break with a five-goal deficit (9-4).

After a scoreless 25 minutes in the second half, Jenna Nace and Kat Reily tallied the final marks of the game with less than five minutes reaming as the Valiants rolled to a 11-4 victory. Nicole Stoppelli increased her scoring streak to six games with her two goals in the contest. Kreuscher and Barrett each contributed with a goal of their own.
