The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team earned a 2-0 Skyline Conference win over SUNY Old Westbury on Friday evening.
Top performers
- Senior Abbey Curcio and junior Julia Cruz were both credited with goals for the Golden Eagles
- Seniors Carli Longrio and Meghan Mullhollan and sophmores Alesandra Melendez and Brooke Esposito finished with assists
- Senior Madelyn Hunter secured the shutout
How it happened
- Cruz got the Golden Eagles in the scoring column when she connected with a header from Longrio in the 16th minute
- The Golden Eagles took a 2-0 lead when Curcio reciecved a through ball into the box from Mullholland, that was played in by Melendez
Notes
- The Golden Eagles outshot the Panthers 16-0 and held a 5-0 corner-kick advantage
- Hunter saw no shots in the match and imrpoved to 2-1 on the season
