The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team remains unbeaten in Skyline Conference play with a 2-0 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday afternoon.

How it happened
  • A foul in the box committed by the Mariners led to an SJNY penalty kick which LoNigro drilled into the lower right corner giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute
  • St. Joseph's added to its lead late in the second half when sophomore Brooke Esposito sent in a cross from the far side and found Melendez whose header got by USMMA's keeper

  • The Golden Eagles controlled the ball outshooting the Mariners 19-7 with a 7-0 corner kick advantage
  • Esposito added another assist to continue leading the Skyline
