Women’s Swimming Earns Non-Conference Victory Over York

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team earned a 91-57 victory over non-conference rival York College inside the Danzi Center pool on Friday evening.

The Golden Eagles opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 yard medley relay, posting a time of 2:26.16--roughly 27 seconds quicker than York's "A" relay.

Junior Catherine Peralta won the next event, the 200 yard free, with a time of 2:37.82, and her sister, freshman Bella Peralta, placed first in the meet's fourth event, the 50 yard free (30.19).

Freshman Jordyn Cummings took first in the 200 yard IM (2:58.40) and the the 100 yard breaststroke (1:27.25), and Kayleigh Aiello won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:21.04.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Julie Garvey, Aiello and the Peralta sisters capped off the meet with a 2:07.45 time and a first-place finish.

The Golden Eagles return to the pool on Saturday, December 2 when they host St. Joseph's College (Brkln) and Mount St. Mary College in a Skyline Conference double duel inside the Danzi Center pool.
