Women's Swimming Comes Up Short at Cedar Crest

Allentown, PA| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team was handed a 153-107 defeat to Cedar Crest College on the campus of the Falcons on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Samantha Mullman recorded SJC's first first-place finish of the afternoon when she posted a 2:14.37 time in the 200 yard freestyle. The sprinter would go on to finish first in the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.60) later in the meet.

Sophomore Aileen Baker (34.78) and freshman Jordyn Cummings (39.97) followed Mullman's lead with victories in the 50 yard backstroke and 50 yard breaststroke, respectively, in events five and six.

Baker would notch her second first-place finish of the afternoon in the 500 yard freestyle (6:21.47), one event before freshman Bella Peralta (31.48) took first in the 50 yard butterfly. 

The 400 yard freestyle relay crew of Baker, Mullman, and Bella and Catherine Peralta wrapped the meet with a 4:16.34 time and victory.

The Golden Eagles return to action tomorrow, January 12, when they host John Jay College on Senior Day. The senior ceremony will begin at 12:45 pm and the meet will commence at 1:00 pm.
