Women's Tennis Downed by Baruch in Non-Conference Contest

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team was defeated, 9-0, by Baruch College in a non-conference contest at the Outdoor Field Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 0-3 on the year as the Bearcats improve to 3-0.

The first doubles pairing of Jessica Jones and Madison DiPalo fared best in the doubles portion of the match having lost 8-5.

DiPalo took Lauren Kraker to a tiebreaker in her second singles match, but eventually lost, 1-6, 6-4, 0-1 (7-10).

Angelina Avecillas Martinez was ahead 4-2 in the first set of her fourth singles match but was forced to retire.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Monday, September 27, when they host Suffolk County Community College for an exhibition match at the OFC at 5:30 pm.
