Women’s Tennis Edges John Jay on Sunday

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I) women's tennis team edged John Jay College, 5-4, in a non-conference contest at the Outdoor Field Complex on Sunday afternoon.

With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 4-5 overall on the year as the Bloodhounds slip to 2-5.

SJC went ahead 2-1 after the doubles competition in which Trinity Behlen and Angela Avecillas Martinez won 8-6 at first doubles and Madison DiPalo and Jessica Jones won second doubles by default.

Avecillas Martinez secured a 6-2, 6-3 win at second singles and Behlen secured a 7-6, 6-4 result at sixth singles. Jones won first singles by default.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday when they participate in the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Championship. Date, time, and opponent are yet to be determined.
