Cross Country Hosts 20th Annual St. Joseph's Invitational

Kings Park, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's and men's cross country teams hosted the 20th Annual St. Joseph's Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park on Saturday afternoon and posted fourth- and third-place finishes, respectively. 

The women were led by junior Meagan Haviland, who, in a field of 187 runners, finished third with a 5k time of 20:19.5, giving her the second-best time for an SJC runner at the Invitational. 

Finishing in 25th place was senior Karli Murphy (21:21.1) while sophomore Sandra Vivar (21:44.8) and sophomore Caleigh Capek (22:02.4) took 36th and 44th, respectively. 

The men posted a third-place finish in a field of 25 and were led by freshman Matt Lopez, who took 11th place with a time of 28:14.1. Lopez's time is the fourth highest in SJC history at the Invitational.

Fellow  freshman Ryan Wilson (28:35.2) finished in 18th while senior Nick DeLuca (28:43.9) and sophomore Dennis O'Rourke placed 20th and 25th, respectively. 

TCNJ won the women's 5k race and Felician placed atop the men's results. 

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, October 31 when they participate in the Skyline Conference Championships at Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY at 1:00 pm.
