Cross Country Finishes Season at NCAA Regionals

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's and women's cross country teams wrapped their 2023 seasons at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Top performers

• Senior Marissa Degni was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles on the women's side with a school course record of 23:33.0

• Junior Gianna Dickson turned in a time of 22:49.1

• The men's team was led by graduate student Matt Lopez with a 28th place finish and a school course record of 25:43.0 in the 8K race

• Sophomore Ethan Humin crossed the finish line at 27:59.8 and junior Anthony Flaccomio rounded out SJLI's top three at 28:38.3

How it happened

• The women amassed 560 points and finished 19th overall out of 28 teams

• The men finished with a team score of 439 and came in 14th place out of 25 teams

• For their efforts, Degni and Lopez were both named All-Region
