Gagliardi Tabbed Skyline Player of the Week, Four Others on Honor Rolls

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and amongst the winners was junior Christina Gagliardi, who was named Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Additionally, sophomores Meagan Haviland (WXC), Jessica Young (WVB) and juniors Nick DeLuca (MXC) and Damian Duda (MSOC) appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls.

Christina Gagliardi (Jr.) – Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Gagliardi led the Golden Eagles in a 2-0 week with five goals and an assist for 11 points. The forward scored twice and picked up an assist in a 4-0 win over St. Joseph's (Brkln) on Sept. 25. Gagliardi went on to break the program's all-time goal-scoring record with three goals in an 8-0 win over York College on Sept. 30. The Ronkonkoma, NY native leads SJC this season with six goals and 14 points.

Nick DeLuca (Jr.) – Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

DeLuca paced the men's cross country team with an 11th-place finish (29:50.2) in the men's 8k race at the Mount St. Mary Invitational on Sept. 29. The Golden Eagles took ninth in a field of 29.

Meagan Haviland (So.) – Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

The Skyline Conference Runner of the Week on Sept. 4, Haviland placed fourth at the Mount St. Mary Inviational on Sept. 29. The sophomore completed the 6k race in 26:55.7 and powered the Golden Eagles to a third-place finish in a field of 26 competing teams.

Damian Duda (Jr.) – Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

A Weekly Honor Roll selection for the first time in his career, Duda tallied one goal and two assists for four points in two games last week. In a 5-1 win over Mount St. Vincent on Sept. 26, the Riverhead, NY native went for a goal and an assist, and in a 2-1 loss to USMMA on Sept. 29, the forward assisted on SJC's only goal. Duda is currently tied for the conference lead in assists (5).

Jessica Young (So.) – Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

In a 2-2 week for the women's volleyball team, Young led the way with 34 kills and a .257 hitting percentage. The sophomore was also a force at the net with 12 total blocks (1 BS, 11 BA) averaging .80 blocks-per-set. In a 3-1 win over Baruch on Sept. 29, Young hit .250 and put down a team-best 13 kills.
