Solen and Stoppelli Scoop Up Skyline Players of the Week Honors

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and amongst the winners were sophomore Jack Solen (men's volleyball) and senior Nicole Stoppelli (women's lacrosse) of St. Joseph's College (L.I.), who were named Players of the Week in their respective sports.

Jack Solen (So.) – Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

Solen powered the men's volleyball team to a 3-0 road sweep of Brooklyn College on Friday night with game-high totals for kills (6) and service aces (6). Additionally, the outside hitter was credited with six digs and three total blocks. Solen has appeared in all 10 of the men's volleyball team's matches this season and claims the honor for the first time in his career.

Nicole Stoppelli (Sr.) – Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

In a 13-11 season-opening win over Hartwick on Saturday, Stoppelli produced a game-high eight points on four goals and for assists. The midfielder's final assist in the contest broke the SJC all-time assists record (94). Additionally, the senior recorded two draw controls, one groundball and caused a turnover. A Skyline All-Conference First-Team selection in 2017 and 2018, Stoppelli earns Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
