Patchogue, NY| The fourth seeded St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team will play host to fifth seeded Mount St. Mary College (14-24, 8-7) in the first round of the Skyline Conference Tournament on Thursday evening for the right to play in the double-elimination final round at Farmingdale St. College this coming weekend.

The Golden Eagles (20-10, 11-5) enter the tournament on a seven-game conference winning streak that was capped off by a sweep of SUNY Purchase on Saturday afternoon to earn them the #4 seed.

The Golden Eagles handed Mount St. Mary's 7-0 and 3-2 defeats in a sweep back on Sunday, April 17 when Josh Outsen tossed 7.2 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out five batters in game one of the doubleheader. Brendan Sullivan went yard in the first game with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, and Brandon Lubrano faced his former team in game two tossing 5.2 innings, allowing two runs and four hits while striking out nine batters.

SJC's Nick Girardi and MSMC's Matt Cahill, two of the conference's strongest offensive players, will play pivotal roles in Wednesday's contest. Girardi (.359, 17 RBI's, 1 HR) is expected to pace the hosts, while Matt Cahill (.346, 16 RBI's, 1 HR) is expected to slot into the outfield for the Knights.
