Results

For the third consecutive year, the St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team finished their Skyline Conference schedule unbeaten and claim the regular season title with a 3-0 sweep of Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday afternoon.

Top Performers

• Freshman Luke MacPherson led the Golden Eagles with a match-best seven kills while hitting at a .700 clip

• Junior Mark Williams, senior Tyler Anderson, and graduate Matthew Dolan  all finished with four kills apiece 

• Junior CJ Johnson tossed a match-best 19 assists and added three kills

• Terence Strehle paced the Dolphins with six kills while setter Pat Ilardi recorded nine assists

How it happened:

• Set one saw the Golden Eagles leading by as many as 10, 20-10, knocking down 13 kills to CMSV's seven to come away with a 25-16 win

• St. Joseph's was dominant in the second frame committing just one attack error en route to an 11-25 victory 

• The third set saw both sides tied as late as 14-14, but four unanswered points provided enough distance for the Golden Eagles as they went on to clinch the match with a 25-19 win

Notes

• St. Joseph's tallied 35 kills compared to Mt. St. Vincent's 20

• SJLI recorded six total blocks as the Dolphins finished with just one
