Morabito and Golaszeki Highlight Skyline Weekly Awards

Men's Volleyball Weekly Report

New York, NY| Five Golden Eagles received Skyline Conference Weekly awards when the conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday morning.

Sophomore Dante Morabito of the baseball team was named Baseball Pitcher of the Week and freshman Mike Golaszeki of men's volleyball was named Rookie of the Week.

Additionally, sophomore James Maggio of the baseball team, junior CJ Johnson, and freshman Connor Ruais of men's volleyball all received Honor Roll recognition. 

Dante Morabito (So.) - Baseball Pitcher of the Week 

Morabito made two appearances this week totaling eight innings on the mound. The pitcher tossed one shutout inning allowing just two hits in a win over the University of Mary Washington in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Patchogue-Medford, NY native followed that with a seven-inning start in which he allowed just one run on six hits with one K to take down No. 19 ranked Ithica College to earn his first win of the season.

Mike Golaszeki (Fr.) - Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Golaszeki finished with six kills in a 3-0 sweep in a conference matchup against Yeshiva. The freshman matched a game-high four digs while recording one block assist. The middle blocker also finished with a career-high six service aces. 

James Maggio (So.) - Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Maggio hit .500 over three games going 6-for-12 with a homerun. The sophomore knocked in four runs while scoring four finishing with a .750 slugging percentage. The Rocky Point, NY native broke a 6-6 stalemate knocking in the eventual game-winning runs with a base hit in the bottom of the seventh in a 10-6 win over Cabrini and followed up with a 5-for-5 performance with two RBIs and four runs scored in a win over Neumann University.

CJ Johnson (Jr.) - Men's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Johnson recorded 34 assists, averaging 11.33 assists per set en route to a 3-0 victory over NJCU. The junior tallied six total blocks with three block solos and three block assists. The setter also provided one kill and six digs.

Connor Ruais (Fr.) - Men's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Ruais totaled a team-high 21 service receptions to help guide the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Yeshiva, while the freshman also totaled three digs in the match.
