Five Golden Eagles Receive Skyline Conference Honors

New York, NY| Five Golden Eagles received Skyline Conference Weekly awards when the conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday morning.

Junior Xavier Allen of the men's basketball team was named Player of the Week, junior Mark Williams of men's volleyball was named Player of the Week, and freshman Luke MacPherson of men's volleyball secured Rookie of the Week. 

Additionally, Connor Ruais of men's volleyball and Alyssa Adomaites of women's basketball received Weekly Honor Roll honors.

Xavier Allen (Jr.) - Men's Basketball Player of the Week 

Allen led the Golden Eagles with 49 total points, averaging 24.5 points per game while shooting at a .571 clip in a 2-0 week. The junior finished with a team-best 18 rebounds while averaging nine boards per game with four steals, two assists, and a block. He recorded his second-highest shooting percentage of the season, 58.8%, good for 26 points on 10-for-17 shooting with nine rebounds in a win over Mt. St. Mary. Just two days later he dropped 23 points on 6-for-11 shooting with another nine rebounds against SUNY Purchase.

Mark Williams (Jr.) - Men's Volleyball Player of the Week 

Williams finished with 34 kills with 2.84 kills per set over three sets in a week with three ranked opponents. The junior added 64 service receptions, 12 digs, five assists, and a team-best five service aces. He contributed a team-high 17 kills with eight digs and 28 service receptions in a five-set match against #9 St. John Fisher. The outside hitter tallied seven kills with four digs, 22 service receptions, and three blocks against #4 Stevens before finishing with 10 kills, 14 service receptions, and two assists against #2 Springfield.

Luke MacPherson (Fr.) - Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week 

MacPherson finished with 17 kills, 80 service receptions, 22 digs, three assists, and a pair of service aces in his first week as a Golden Eagle. The freshman recorded 10 kills and a team-best 14 digs with a match-high 38 service receptions in his first collegiate match against #9 St. John Fisher. He added three kills, three digs, and 21 receptions against #4 Stevens before contributing four kills, five digs, and 21 receptions against #2 Springfield.

Connor Ruais (Fr.) - Men's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Ruais finished with 67 service receptions, 5.58 receptions per set, and nine digs with two assists in his first week as a Golden Eagle. The freshman produced a perfect 32-for-32 in serve receive in his first collegiate match against #9 St. John Fisher while adding five digs. The libero added 14 receptions and two digs against #4 Stevens before recording 21 receptions with a pair of digs and an assist against #2 Springfield.

Alyssa Adomaites (Sr.) - Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll 

Adomaites led the Golden Eagles with 26 points, averaging 13.0 points per game. She scored 14 points and recorded a career-high 11 rebounds, to go along with three steals and one block in a win against Mt. St. Vincent.  The junior shot a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line on the week. Finished the week averaging 6.5 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game.
