Women's Soccer Falls to FDU-Florham, 3-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 by FDU-Florham Sunday afternoon at Danzi Stadium.

The Golden Eagles slide to 1-4 overall as the Devils improve to 7-1-1.

FDU-Florham opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when a pass to the middle of the field from Erica Martins found Amanda Croce who then blasted a shot over SJC's keeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo. The Devils pushed the lead to two when Erika Pita's shot to the upper right corner found the back of the net in the 40th minute.

The visitors added some insurance in the second half when Lindsey Scarmozzino's corner kick found the head of Martins in the 55th minute.

Cintron-Leonardo finished with two saves on the day with her counterpart Ashley Paulino turning away three shots.

The Golden Eagles open Skyline Conference play when they face St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn on Tuesday, September 25. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at Danzi Stadium.
