Women's Soccer Shuts Out Purchase on Senior Night

Patchogue, NY| Freshman Gianna Castilletti's goal in the 15th minute proved to be the game-winner as the St. Joseph's College women's soccer team shutout SUNY Purchase 1-0 on Tuesday evening.

The Golden Eagles move to 6-6 on the season with a 4-2 conference mark. The Panthers drop to 2-9, 1-5 Skyline.

Junior Karissa Rutigliano sent in a corner kick from the far side where sophomore Carly Credidio's initial shot was blocked and Castilletti was there to put back the rebound for the game's lone goal.

The two sides played a tight second half with the Golden Eagles earning a slight 6-5 edge in shots, but keeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo came up with four saves to preserve the win and pick up her fourth shutout of the season.

The Golden Eagles return to Danzi Stadium on Friday, October 19 when they host Yeshiva University. Game time is set for 10:00 am.
