Women’s Swimming Tops Sarah Lawrence, West Conn. on Saturday

Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team secured wins over Sarah Lawrence (101-87) and Western Conn. State (119-76) in its season opener in Bronxville, NY on Saturday. 

SJC picked up its first win of the afternoon in the 1,000 yard freestyle when Alison Cabanillas posted a time of 12:14.29.

Marisa Tutone (26.82) and Nicole Orellana (28.21) placed second and third in the 50 yard free, and Julianna Kohlus took second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:41.51.

Kohlus was also second in the 100 yard butterfly (1:09.19) while Tutone (1:00.14) and Orellana (1:03.39) went first and second in the 100 yard free. 

Cabanillas (6:09.46) and Kohlus (6:20.22) placed second and third, respectively, in the 500 yard free.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, October 29, when they host Mount St. Mary for a Skyline Conference meet at 6:00 in the Danzi Center pool.
