Women’s Swimming Beats Mt. St. Mary in Skyline Meet

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team defeated Mount St. Mary, 105-53, in a Skyline Conference meet at the Danzi Center pool on Friday evening.

SJC opened the meet with a come-from-behind victory in the 200 yard medley relay. Nicole Orellana erased a deficit in the final stretch and clinched a 2:08.55 overall time for the foursome. 

Alison Cabanillas (2:16.99) and Jaclyn Kanaley (2:24.75) placed first and second in the 200 yard freestyle, and Orellana won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.83.

Orellana's third first-place finish of the meet came in the 100 yard freestyle (1:03.85). 

Marisa Tutone took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.31 and was one-fourth of the 200 yard freestyle relay team that won with a time of 1:51.66. 

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 30, when they host Queens College and John Jay College for a double-duel inside the Danzi Center pool at 1:00 pm.
