Women’s Swimming Visits Division I Stony Brook

Stony Brook, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team was defeated, 115-75, by Division I Stony Brook University on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles, who have not swam since early December at the ECAC Championships, are defeated head-to-head for only the second time this season.

SJC 's greatest achievement of the afternoon came via Marisa Tutone, who posted a time of 26.63 in the 50 yard freestyle and was third-best. 

Julianna Kohlus finished first in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:35:93, nearly 20 seconds better than Stony Brook's Claire Lewis.

Meghan Skakandi (1:17.69) was the fourth-place finisher in the 100 yard breaststroke, and Nicole Orellana (28.27) was fifth-best in the 50 yard free.

The Golden Eagles return to the pool on Saturday, January 22, when they participate in the Skyline Conference Championships at SUNY Purchase.
