Women's Swimming Beats Hunter, Queensboro CC on Saturday
Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team defeated Hunter College (107-93) and Queensboro Community College (32-13) in a non-conference double-duel inside the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.
Julianna Kohlus posted SJC's first first-place finish of the afternoon with a 1,000 yard freestyle time of 13:18.05. The senior would later win the 100 yard butterfly (1:09.03).
Alison Cabanillas took first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:13.99) and Marisa Tutone won the 50 yard free with a time of 27.12.
Tutone and Cabanillas picked up their second victories in the 100 yard freestyle (59.83) and 500 yard freestyle (6:02.14).
The 200 yard freestyle team of Tutone, Cabanillas, Meghan Skakandi, and Nicole Orellana, despite coming in second place, set a new school record with a time of 1:49.59.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, November 19, when they host the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy inside the Danzi Center at 6:00 pm.
