Women’s Swimming Competes at ECAC Championships

East Meadow, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team competed and finished 12th at the ECAC Swimming Championships from December 3 to 5 at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.  

Two school records were broken in prelims on day one: Alison Cabanillas posted a time of 5:49.71 in the 500 freestyle and Marisa Tutone finished the 50 freestyle in 25.94. 

The 200-yard medley relay team of Meghan Skakandi, Julianna Kohlus, Nicole Orellana, and Tutone placed 19th with a time of 2:01.72.

Tutone, Skakandi, and Kohlus joined Cabanillas on the 800-yard freestyle relay team and posted a time of 8:55.31 and finished 14th.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, January 8, when they host Cedar Crest and Kutztown for a non-conference double-duel at 1:00 pm.
