Women's Tennis Cruises Past York College, 9-0, on Saturday Afternoon

Jamaica, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over non-conference rival York College on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles improve to 3-1 on the year, as the Cardinals slide to 0-2. 

SJC earned a quick point over the third court courtesy of Caroline Rina Mandaro and Nora Burnett defeating Kaithlyn Taylor and May Thu Thway 8-0.

Amanda Post and Victoria Panicola swept their opponents 8-0 in the first court and Alana Caporale and Lindsey Charrier completed the doubles sweep (3-0) with an 8-0 victory of their own.

Mandaro claimed the first singles point for SJC with an 8-0 win over Thway on the sixth court. Caporale completed the sweep and earned the win for the Golden Eagles with another 8-0 win over Taylor on the fourth court.

Burnett, Panicola, Lindsey Charrier and Post all defeated their opponents in straight sets (8-0).  

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday Sept. 23, when they to take on Oneonta at 1:00 PM.
