Women's Tennis Clinches Playoff Berth in 9-0 Win Over Sarah Lawrence

Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team completed a nine-match sweep taking down Sarah Lawrence, 9-0, in a Skyline Confernece matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Eagles improve to 8-2 (5-1 Skyline) on the year as the Gryphones slide to 2-9 (1-5 Skyline)

With the win, the Golden Eagles clinched the #2 seed in the Skyline Conference Championship and will host Mount St. Mary College on Wednesday, October 18.

SJC swept the doubles matches, winning 8-0 at first doubles and second doubles before Caroline Mandaro and Erin Hickey completed the sweep with an 8-3 win at third doubles.

Nora Burnett earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles, while Alana Caporale earned the game-winning fifth point at third singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Julianna Fimbres. Victoria Panicola won her second-straight match at #1 singles collecting a 6-3, 6-0 win.
Madanro and Hickey collected victories at #5 and #6 singles, respectively, and Lindsey Charrier defeated Rebecca Manillo 6-2, 6-0.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, October 13 when they travel to take on Hunter College at 12 PM.
