Women's Tennis Cruises Past Purchase,7-2, on Tuesday Night

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three games on Tuesday evening with a convincing 7-2 victory over Purchase College.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 6-2 overall and sit in second place in the conference standings with a 3-1 Skyline mark. The Panthers' loss sends them to 4-2 (2-2 Skyline) on the year.

SJC took two of the doubles matches, winning 8-5 at first doubles and 8-4 at third doubles before losing 8-5 at second doubles.

Caroline Mandaro earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at sixth singles, while Raquelle DeCicco handed Caporale a 6-0, 6-1 loss.  Victoria Panicola and Lindsey Charrier collected victories at #2 and #5 singles, respectively, and Burnett outlasted Abigail Cuddy 4-6, 6-1, 10-5.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on St. Joseph's College (Brkln) on Saturday, October 7 at 12 PM.
