Women Win the Mt. St. Mary Invitational, Men Place 2nd

Result

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's cross country team placed first as the men took second place at Sunday's Mount St. Mary Invitational.

Top performers

• Gianna Dickson (26:30.6), Marissa Degni (27:24.0), and Emily Venturi (27:43.3) placed sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively in the women's 6k race
• Matt Lopez (27:52.1) finished in third place and was SJNY's best runner in the men's 8k race
• Patrick Wuss (30:33.5) and Jimmy Mintel (30:44.6) finished in 22nd and 23rd, respectively

How it happened

• The women's 75 points were 36 fewer than second-place Mount St. Mary (111)
• The men collected 101 points and were bested only by first-place USMMA (35), making them the second-best Skyline team in the 8k race

Notes

• Alex Ehrhart finished 10th in the women's race with a time of 28:28.7
• Six Skyline Conference schools particpated at the event in both the men's and women's races
