Cross Country Finishes Season at NCAA Metro Regionals

Result

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's and women's cross country teams wrapped their 2022 seasons at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Top performers

• Gianna Dickson led the SJNY women with a time of 24:52 finishing in a program- best 41st place
• Just behind her were Emily Venturi(25:32.0) and Marissa Degni (25:58)
• Alex Ehrhart finished her final race with a time of 28:12.9
• The men's top finisher was Matt Lopez with a school course record of 27:42
• Patrick Wuss followed with a time of 29:33
• Jimmy Mintel and Anthony Flaccomio finished at 29:41 and 30:40, respectively

How it happened

• The women amassed 377 points and finished 15th overall
• The men finished with a team score of 463 and came in 14th place

Notes

• The women's 15th place finish is the second highest in school history second just to last season's finish
• The men also secured their best-ever NCAA Regional finish placing 14th out of 24 teams
• Only seven men in school history have finished in the top 100
