North Arlington, NJ| Seven different players scored as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's soccer team breezed past Skyline Conference rival Yeshiva University by the score of 8-2 on Sunday afternoon in North Arlington, NJ. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 8-10-1 overall and 6-2-0 in Skyline action. Yeshiva falls to 6-2-2 (5-2-2 Skyline).

Junior Brian O'Sullivan opened the scoring for St. Joseph's in a wild fourth minute that saw the defender score his first goal of the season just seconds before senior Andrew Stasiewicz doubled the Golden Eagles lead. Stasiewicz took a pass from sophomore Justin Busto and struck the ball across the face of goal and into the back of the net from the left side of the box.

Yeshiva responded immediately in the fifth minute when Juan cotton curled a shot around SJC keeper Avery Gomez to draw the score back to 2-1. Stasiewicz tallied his second of the afternoon in the 25th minute to regain the two-goal for the Golden Eagles, but it was short lived as Yeshiva's Julian Ribak would tap in a long ball pass to cut the St. Joseph's lead to one goal (3-2) just a minute later.

Busto's 34th minute finish of a DeVaunte Maynes throughball ensured the Golden Eagles a 4-2 lead heading into the break after a first period that saw both teams record six shots.

With the second shot of the second half, senior Alex Guadagno increased SJC's lead to 5-2 in the 54th minute, and before long it was 6-2 thanks to junior Justin Heredia's 58th minute goal off a turnover.

Maynes (74th) and junior Cody Puglisi (79th) bagged insurance markers late in the second half as the Golden Eagles cruised to an 8-2 victory.

All three of St. Joseph's leading goal scorers in Busto (7), Heredia (6) and Guadagno (5) tallied in a match that saw both the Golden Eagles and Maccabees record 14 shots each.

SJC's Gomez made five saves on the afternoon, while Yeshiva's Moishi Eisenmann was credited with three.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, October 28, when they welcome SUNY Old Westbury to Danzi Stadium for their regular-season finale. Live stats will be available here.
