The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team picked up a non-conference win 3-1 over Eastern Nazarene College in the Danzi Center on Friday evening.

Top performers

• Junior Mark Williams led the Golden Eagles with 13 kills while adding seven digs and a pair of blocks

• Senior Tyler Anderson finished with 11 kills from the right side and scooped up eight digs

• Middle Quinn Foglia recorded six kills on 10 attempts with three blocks

• Setter CJ Johnson dished a match-best 38 assists with six kills and picked up a team-high 11 digs

• Ian Pacheco led the Lions with 14 kills with setter Nathan Jacques finishing with 24 assists and a team-high 10 digs

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles controlled the first set cruising to a 25-14 win

• After Eastern Nazarene pulled off a 28-26 win in the second set to even the match, SJLIbounced back with a 25-16 win in set three

• Set four never side a lead larger than two by either side and needed extra points to determine a winner. Down 25-24, the St. Joseph's went on to get back-to-back kills from Foglia and Johnson before an ENC attack error secured the 27-25 win for the Golden Eagles

• As a team, Golden Eagles hit .210 while holding the Lions to .093

• St. Joseph's finished with seven service aces to ENC's one

The Golden Eagles return to action when they travel to Springfield College to face Hunter College and the Pride at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, respectively.
