Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Samantha Garcia – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Junior, Midfielder, Central Islip, NY/St. John the Baptist HS

Garcia's goal in the third minute on Sept. 2 proved to be the difference as St. Joseph's-L.I. edged Rutgers-Camden, 1-0, at the FDU Tournament…also tallied a goal in the Golden Eagles' 3-2 loss to Oswego State on Sept. 1.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week
John Dettori – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Senior, Forward, Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore HS

The 2011 Skyline Player of the Year tallied goals in the 79th and 84th minutes as St. Joseph's-L.I. rallied for a 2-1 win over Lehman on Sept. 1…amassed six shots in the match…marked the first win for head coach Tim Trava.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Jesus Vaquez-Lopez – The Sage Colleges
Sophomore, Latham, NY/Shaker HS

Competing at the SUNYIT Invitational on Sept. 1, Vaquez-Lopez placed 19th overall with a time of 21:18.6 on the 6K course…field consisted of 147 competitors…Sage finished eighth out of 13 teams. 

Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Cameron Coneys - Maritime
Freshman, Centerport, NY/Harborfields HS

Coneys was the Privateers' top finisher at the Army Open on Aug. 31 with a time of 18:22.10 on the 5K course…placed 24 in a field of 101 runners.

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Rachel Sleeter – Mount Saint Mary
Junior, Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt HS

Sleeter placed 13th in a field of 39 runners on Aug. 31 at the New Paltz Invitational with a time of 17:13 on the 4K course…MSMC finished third in the four-team field. 

Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Keira Warner – The Sage Colleges
Freshman, Chestertown, NY/North Warren HS

Competing at the SUNYIT Invitational on Sept. 1, Warner finished eighth overall on the 5K course with a time of 21:39.2…the field consisted of 128 runners…the Gators finished tied for 13 out of 14 teams in their  inaugural meet as a varsity program. 

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Ashlee Thompson – Farmingdale State
Freshman, Forward, Ronkonkoma, NY/Sachem North HS

Thompson had a hand in all three of the Rams' goals on Aug. 31 as she recorded two goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over Buffalo State…her assist came on the eventual game-winning tally. 

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Michael Sparrin – The Sage Colleges
Junior, Forward, Ilion, NY/Ilion HS

Sparrin scored the game-winning goal in his collegiate debut on Sept. 1 as Sage edged Berkeley in overtime by a 2-1 margin. 

Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
Joanie Cooney – The Sage Colleges
Junior, Setter, Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa HS

Cooney was tabbed the Most Valuable Player of the Elms Blazer Invitational as the Gators registered wins over Elms (3-0), Albertus Magnus (3-0) and Cobleskill (3-0)…amassed 73 assists, averaged 2.89 digs per set with an attack percentage of .438…now ranks fourth in program history with 1,524 assists. 

Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Megan Pisciotta – Farmingdale State
Freshman, Setter, Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst HS

Pisciotta registered 27 assists and seven digs on Aug. 31 as FSC earned a 3-1 win over the College of New Rochelle…posted 36 assists versus Rutgers-Newark…averaged 7.3 assists and 1.2 digs over 10 sets. 

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Kirsten Ackerman – The Sage Colleges
Sophomore, Guilderland, NY/Guilderland HS

Ackerman did not lose a game in a pair of contests at No. 1 singles as Sage opened its 2012 season with 6-3 wins over both Bay Path and Johnson State…also won a pair of matches at the No. 2 doubles flight versus Bay Path (8-0) and Johnson State (8-2). 

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Lauren Bendall – The Sage Colleges
Sophomore, Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy

Competing in her first season of collegiate tennis, Bendall earned a hard-fought 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 win at No. 6 singles as Sage improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-3 victory over Bay Path on Sept. 2.
