Greensboro, NC| Three members of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team have been selected to the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region teams, including Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year and New York All-Region First-Team member Josh Outsen.

Outsen is joined by teammates and New York All-Region Second-Team members Lou Doria and Brandon Lubrano. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.

Outsen took home the Skyline Pitcher of Year award earlier this May and garners his first career New York-ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First-Team selection after posting a 7-0 record with a 1.99 earned-run average through 54.1 innings pitched this season. In his eight starts, the senior struck out 54 batters and allowed just eight extra-base hits on the year. Outsen tossed a career-best three shutouts, and held opposing batters to a .204 batting average. The senior pitcher also struck out a career-high 14 batters in a 20-0 win over Yeshiva on March 26. During conference play, the Lindenhurst, NY native went 6-0 with a .66 ERA, tossing 41 innings and fanned 39 batters.

In his first season with the Golden Eagles, Doria led the team offensively, posting a .361 batting average and an 1.225 OPS. The LIU Post transfer finished first in the conference in homeruns (9), and tied the program record for most RBIs in a single season (42). He amassed 39 hits, including 20 extra-base hits–10 doubles, a triple, and nine homeruns–scored 28 runs, and led the team with 21 walks.

Lubrano also earned his first All-Region selection after appearing in 10 games and posting a 5-2 record. He led the team in innings pitched (55.1) and is currently sixth in the nation with a 1.30 ERA. The southpaw graduate student tossed three complete games, allowed eight runs, and struck out 42 batters.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans will be announced on the evening of Thursday, May 25. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team will be announced on Wednesday, June 21.
