Seventh Inning Surge Sinks Baseball

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College baseball team suffered a 6-1 non-conference loss at the hands of Ramapo College at Gregg Alfano Field on Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles even out at 13-13 on the season as the Roadrunners improve to 13-9.

St. Joseph's lone run of the game came in the bottom of the first when Tyler Costa legged out an infield hit and then came in to score on a passed ball a few batters later.

The Roadrunners, who were shutout through six innings, managed to score their first two runs in the bottom of the seventh without recording a hit. Anthony Kuzmenko then knocked in two runs with a single to right center. A sac fly and RBI single followed giving Ramapo's Tyler Lombardo all the run support he needed.

Lombardo scattered six hits allowing one run with four strikeouts in eight innings to earn his third win of the season.

SJC sent 10 pitchers to the mound with Ryan Szalay getting the loss after surrendering five runs.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline Conference action on Saturday, April 13 when they travel to Mt. St. Mary College. Game time is slated for 12:00 pm.
