Baseball's Woodford and Nakashian Pick Up All-ECAC Honors
Danbury, CT| Junior Tim Woodford and senior Jesse Nakashian of the St. Joseph's College baseball (L.I.) baseball team garnered All-ECAC honors when the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released its end-of-season baseball awards last week.
Woodford earned his second regional recognition when he landed on the Second-Team just days after picking up D3baseball.com Third-Teams honors. The RHP finished second in the Skyline Conference in wins (6) and ERA (1.40) while suffering just one loss on the season and recording 49 strikeouts in his nine appearances.
Nakashian took home Honorable Mention recognition after leading the Golden Eagles with a .371 batting average and eight doubles in 2019. The utility player recorded a team-best 43 hits and was second on the team with 25 RBI's. His .461 on-base percentage was ranked seventh in the conference.
After posting a 9-9 conference mark during the regular season, SJC entered the Skyline Conference Championship as the fifth seed and was defeated by fourth-seeded SUNY Maritime, 10-9, in the first round on May 1.
